Here I Come!

Last week Casey decided he didn't want to be left behind by his little brother anymore so he started crawling after him. When Daniel went to work that morning and we both said that Casey would have it figured out by the end of the day. An hour or two later he was chasing Mitchell around. He has such a proud look on his face as he's crawling, then he stops and looks up at you and gives you his huge grin. A few days before he started crawling he would be on his hands and knees and then push himself up into a plank, look around and smile. He must have been wanting to work on his core strength for the swimsuit season.

I tried to convince Maggie that it would be fun for her and Casey to start crawling on the same day, but she said she wasn't quite ready yet. She is really close. She pulls herself forward with her arms and then flops forward on her belly, gets up and does it again. So she can get to where she wants to go, just in her own way. She actually looks kind of like a seal dragging herself around...a very tiny, cute seal. I am sure she will master this crawling thing any day.

Little Roughrider Fans

My niece Meaghan bought the babes cute little Roughrider t-shirts. The boys' shirts say "When I grow up I'm gonna be a Roughrider" and Maggie's says "I love Roughriders". Thanks Meaghan!

Everyone In The Pool!

During the hot weather last week we set up the little paddling pool that we have and we hung out in there for a while. They loved it in the water! Mitchell kept leaning forward trying to drink the water and then he was trying to climb out. Everyone was splashing each other and having a great time. They were sad to have to come back inside for their nap. We will definately be spending more time in there this summer. Although I think we may have to get a little bigger pool, it was pretty squishy.

Check out the little hottie in her bikini. Maggie was gaining weight so well that she was able to come off Neosure (the high calorie formula) about 2 months ago. As you can see, she is still gaining weight just fine.

Hats don't stay on very long...we're working on it.

A few weeks ago I went to mom and dad's for a few days while Daniel was away for work. It was nice to get to the lake for a few days, although I ended up with the flu. If I was going to get it I guess it was good timing because mom and dad were there to help.
Here are a few pictures of the babes outside. The first time we went outside lasted for only a few minutes because there were so many mosquitos buzzing around.

This was an attempt at a lunchtime picnic outside, but it also didn't last too long.

We are going to have a lot of fun at the lake once they can get in there and splash around.

Pearly Whites

Maggie has caught up to the boys in the tooth department. Her first one came through about a week ago and now her second one came through a few days ago. No one has signs of any of the top ones coming in yet.
Here are a few pictures of Maggie. It is hard to get a picture of her lately where she isn't in her high chair or a bouncy chair because she is always wiggling around and then the pictures turn out blurry.
If you look really closely I think you can see the two pearly whites.


Our sleeping beauty gets prettier everyday. We always tell her that she is so pretty and that always gets a smile out of her.

Grandma and Maggie (My mom was here for a few days while everyone had their colds last month)

I had heard about these Podee bottles from a friend who had twin girls a few years ago. I finally ordered some to try them out. They are attatchments that screw onto bottles so that you can have your baby take their bottle without having to lay down. There is a nipple that they put into their mouth that is hooked up to a tube going down into the bottle. They could be used while in a stroller, car seat, etc. So if we were out somewhere, theoretically I could give the babies these and they could drink their bottles sitting up. Casey and Maggie have them figured out but Mitchell has no interest in them. Well, I guess he has too much interest because he just wants to pull on the tubing and not keep the nipple in his mouth. It is a great concept and maybe once they got more comfortable with them it would work better, but as of now it seems easier to just do it the old fashioned way. I know of some moms of multiples who swear that these things made their lives so much easier.

Something completely off topic...I have been off work for over a year already! I was just past 20 weeks, June 12th was my last day. It doesn't seem possible that one year has gone by. Last week I was at a baby shower for a co-worker's little guy and as I was driving there I was thinking about how long it's been since I was at work.
I have an 18 month maternity leave (only 12 of these months are paid) which takes me to the beginning of March, so I still have some time. Although I am sure it will go by just as fast.

We Love You Daddy!

Happy Father's Day Daddy! We may be little and still not able to talk but we can type. We are so lucky to have you as our daddy! We love the way you play with us, cuddle us, know how to make us smile and make us feel better when we're sad. But most of all we love the way your eyes light up everytime you look at us. We know how much you love us. We have been having so much fun with you so far and know there is so much more to come.
Thank you for everything you do for us and for mommy. We're glad she chose you to be our daddy.

My Big Brother Is So Funny!

A few weeks ago one of the funniest things happened that I have seen so far with our babes. We had gone to Daniel's baseball game earlier in the evening (their first game!) so I was a little late getting them ready for bed and giving them their bedtime bottle. While I was changing Maggie I had put the boys in the living room to sit and play with some toys. All of a sudden Mitchell let out the biggest belly laugh I have ever heard from him. He was doing it over and over again! I rushed to get Maggie diapered and dressed so that I could see what was so funny. When I got out there the boys were facing each other and Mitchell would look at Casey and crack up. They must have had an inside joke going on or else Mitchell was just so excited to be up past his bedtime. It was hilarious!!!

And He's Off!!

After a few weeks of being so close, Mitchell's finally crawling! He had been doing his own version of it by scooting his knees in and then flopping forward on his belly. But a few days ago he got his arms and legs coordinated and took off. I was at my parents at the time so he started doing it there and then as soon as we got home he was showing off for Daddy. I am sure he gets frustrated with me because I keep moving things further away from him as he gets closer so that he'll keep going. I just love to watch him crawl....he has such a determined look on his face.

He can also pull himself up on some things. I had set him down in front of a toy in the living room, went into the kitchen and when I came back a minute or two later he was standing!

Casey and Maggie will both get themselves up on to their hands and knees and rock back and forth, so they may not be too far behind now that they will have Mitchell cruising around them. I can't believe that they are old enough to be doing this already!!

When Mitchell was still in the hospital Daniel "swore" that he saw him crawl at 2 weeks old. He would be sleeping on his tummy and scoot himself upwards in his isolette, although only enough that a proud Daddy could tell. So I guess from the very beginning he had his own way of getting around.

Way to go Mitchell!!!

Are They Twins?

3 Babies=Twins??

I have to say, I am so surprised at the number of people who have said to me, "Are those twins?". I'm not sure if they just notice that there is more than one baby and assume that they are twins, without looking close enough to count? I have no idea.
I politely say to them, "No, there is 3 of them, they're triplets" or else sometimes I can pretend like I didn't hear them.

Another thing that has happened numerous times while we are out for a walk is someone slowing down their vehicle, rolling down the window and making a comment or asking a question. One person asked if they were twins, one person said, "My daughter wants to know if those are triplets", another person asked, "Are those all yours?". It really is quite amusing the things that come out of people's mouths.

Today on our walk I came up to a couple who had twins. We stopped for a few minutes and talked, but I have to say that I usually just keep walking even though most people we pass say something or slow down hoping to have a look. I have a certain amount of time to get our walk in so when we're out there, we mean business.

Laundry Day

Laundry days happens a lot more often in our house now with a family of 5. There is usually always something either in the washer, dryer or laundry baskets waiting to be washed or folded and put away. I like getting things into the wash but putting them away is not as fun.

3 Sick Babies

After 8 months of being cold and flu free our babes got their first colds about a week and a half ago. It started with Casey, then Mitchell and Maggie. My mom came to stay and help for a few days which was really nice.
I am sure that our neighbours must think that I am torturing our kids with the crying that has come blasting out of our windows from wiping runny noses, trying to use a nasal aspirator, trying to give them saline drops in their noses and from them just not feeling quite right. We are hoping that this will soon be gone and everyone will be back to normal.

Yesterday Daniel called me when he was on his way to go play baseball. I was feeding the babes...Casey got majorly upset about something, started coughing like crazy and almost choking on "gunky cold stuff". He was crying so hard and I am not sure if he held his breath or just couldn't catch it, but he either zoned out or actually passed out for a few seconds. I called his name and shoke him a bit he came to and started crying again. Meanwhile Mitchell was furious about something too while he was on the floor looking up at me. I told Daniel that 3 out of the 4 people in the house were having meltdowns. Which 3?
Well, Maggie was just patiently hanging out in her bouncy chair (I can't remember if she was still drinking or if she was just watching the madness). So that leaves the boys and mommy. But we all regained our composure, they finished most of their bottles had some supper and then a little later on went to bed nicely.
Wow....I am not sure if it was their colds making them feel rotten, maybe more teeth coming or just simply ticked off about something...but that was crazy!

I have to apoligize to my family because "supposedly" I used to hold my breath when I would cry and I would pass out for a few seconds too. So I guess if that's what Casey was doing, he comes by it honestly.

He's Getting Close

Mitchell is getting close to crawling! He gets himself up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. He looks like he is ready to take off, but then goes back down to his tummy. We say to him, "Ready, set, go..." and then he flops down. One of these days he will do it once and then there will no holding him back.



Casey is still our little goofball. He can get himself around the room by pushing backwards on his hands and tummy. We often find him backed up under the couch or in a corner. His teeth are really coming in and he loves to smile and show them off. He is already a little flirt...watch out girls!



Maggie gets around on the floor by rolling to whever she wants to go. She gets a toy in her sight, rolls to get it and then rolls onto her back to play with it. Her latest thing is scrunching her nose up, pursing her lips and breathing in and out really quickly. Although we think it so cute, these first two may be pictures that she will not want to come out at her wedding.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy belated Mother's Day to all of you mothers!

I had a very nice Mother's Day. I went to the gym in the morning, which is my 2 hours a week that it works for me to get out of the house and get in a good workout. I took the babes out for a short walk in the afternoon and then we went out for a fancy supper at Dairy Queen. We put the babes in the stroller and enjoyed our first meal out as a family on the patio at DQ. Well they didn't really have much of a meal, they only got a little piece of my bun. We didn't get ice cream (I'm not sure what was wrong with us??), so we'll have to go back some day soon and let them have their first ice cream cone. If they are anything like their father or either grandfathers, ice cream will be another food group for them.

It was a nice and simple day. Once you have your own children you definately understand and realize how much your parents really love you.
