George Costanza Impression

Mitchell was having fun the other day pretending that he was a baby and crawling around. Everytime I said, "Come to mommy, baby Mitchell" he thought it was hilarious. I knew that I was getting some good pictures of him but I had no idea how good and how funny some of them were until I looked back.

For any of you Seinfeld fans, do you remember the episode where George was modelling in his boxers on the couch in all of his sexy poses? This was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw these pictures of Mitchell, I was laughing so hard! The difference is Mitchell is waaaay cuter and wearing a lot more clothes than George was.




There were also some non-George-like pictures that I really liked.



The success or failure of group pictures these days are based on what we offer as a bribe or a reward. This Valentine's Day my bribe for them was smarties balls and it worked pretty well.



Casey is such a goofball!




This week has been pretty rough for Maggie, she really hasn't felt well. She's had a fever off and on and felt rotten a lot of the time. She would be curl up on us for a while moaning and groaning but then she perk up a bit and play with the boys for a while. Today seemed to be a bit better for her so we're hoping she's on the mend.

Ring Around the Rosey

Just in the last few weeks the kids have really started to play, talk and interact with each other more. This has led to a new favorite game of ring around the rosey that has replaced group hugs/tackle/doggie piles.

Near the end, Casey started getting fussy about whether he held Mitchell's hand, one of his fingers or his thumb.


We took the kids for a speech therapy appointment yesterday. They all were a little shy at first and of course didn't talk near as much as they do at home, but the therapist didn't have any concerns. Mitchell was the most vocal of the group and the therapist was pretty impressed with how well Mitchell said "excavator" and a few other fairly complex words. She had a good laugh when she asked him what he wanted to eat for lunch and he said "chicken". She gave us a few good ideas of things to try with them and things we can do a little differently to help them build their language skills and then we'll go back again in July for a follow-up appointment. Thank you Meaghan, my 18 year old niece, who got up early on a Friday morning to hang out with the kids in the waiting room while they took turns being seen!

Is It Spring Yet?

Anytime that it warms up outside we get the kids out. It was -44 with the wind at the beginning of last week but by Saturday it was +1 and beautiful so we spent the morning outside. The kids were helping shovel the driveway and then we went on a toboggan ride.




The kids love to eat snow. We did have a conversation about only eating the white stuff.





More wee wee talk - this time it was hilarious to "drill his weewee". I don't want to imagine what the future holds for us in this department.


This is the same boy who freaked out in the tub last night because Grandma didn't "de-jam" his toes. Apparently he likes toe jam, but if it ends up floating in the water that's terrifying!

I got another reminder last week about how extremely lucky we are to have gotten as far into our pregnancy as we did and to have 3 healthy children. In the midst of all of the daily chaos, I don't remember this often enough.

Playdoh!

Playdoh is a huge hit in our house! The kids actually take turns with the all of the pieces quite well. And I was surprised that more of it didn't get eaten - I think Mitchell snuck a few bites but that was about it.

Casey is so animated when he talks. This boy is going to be a performer of some kind for sure! He was telling us a big long story about the playdoh.




Mitchell was very focused on what he was doing with the playdoh, which is just like him. You can tell he's really concentrating when his tongue is out.




Maggie had a lot of fun too, but she took time out as usual to pose for me.

Hey, what's going on over there??

Casey has been loving diaper changing time lately because it gives him another reason to talk. The latest story is that he, Mitchell and daddy have wee-wee's, Maggie and mommy have who-who's and mommy has 2 bums. He is such a funny boy!

Our Triplets Are Here!

On Saturday we took the kids to a winter carnival at the bank near us for the grand opening (this is where we took the kids for their Santa pictures). When the 5 of us walked in, one of the girls yelled, "Our triplets are here"! We've made some friends there already. The kids had a great time with all of the activities that were going on.

Before we left that morning we emptied the piggy banks so that they could take their money in. I gave them each a ziploc bag and they took turns shoving their bills in there. It was kind of funny - Mitchell said to me as I was handing them their money, "My bag too full, too much money, no more money". We'll see if he's still refusing money in a few years.



We were trying to bribe the kids with more money to get them to stand together for a picture, but it didn't work too well when Mitchell already thought he had too much. We were able to get a couple of pictures before they took off.


The kids needed a haircut again (#2 for them) and after the bad experience I had last time we took them to the hairdresser, I decided to do it myself. Well, now I can say I have a new appreciation for people who cut children's hair. Can you imagine that they don't keep their heads still or look straight ahead the whole time?

Casey's favorite part was the spray bottle.

Anyways, it got done and although they could all use a touch up again you can't see my mistakes too bad because their hair is curly.
